The voices of poc, queer poc, and women in 3rd world countries are rarely taken into consideration when discussing feminist theory. Why is it important (as men, as white, or as generally privileged) to listen to those who are most censored or dismissed?

In the current state of this nation, voices of poc, queer poc, and women in 3rd world countries are starting to be heard.
There are more who are able to raise a voice, take a stand, and share their stories through different outlets like rallies and the Internet.

People with privilege have the power to change the situation for the oppressed.
It is important, especially in times like this, that those who are privileged stand with them and help have their stories get heard.
The privileged have the power to either let their voices get muted, or amplify them to help create change.

Today, there are many more ways that bipoc/queer voices can be heard than in the past.
There are influencers that support movements and educate their followers, infographic pages that keep viewers up to date with the latest stories, and the share button that can let followers of followers of followers
view stories that have once been oppressed. Although we are not at a place where we can celebrate,
I believe that these voices will continue to be heard more than ever with the help of the Internet.
